"Prof. dr. Henriëtte Maassen van den Brink wordt de nieuwe voorzitter van de Onderwijsraad. De ministerraad heeft besloten haar voor te dragen voor benoeming. Ze treedt per 1 januari 2015 in functie.
Maassen van den Brink is als hoogleraar Economie verbonden aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam en tevens verbonden als hoogleraar Evidence Based Education aan de Universiteit van Maastricht. In haar persoon komen onderwijspraktijk, wetenschappelijk onderzoek en kennis van evidence based beleidsevaluaties bij elkaar."

“The Chief Inspector of Schools, Sir Michael Wilshaw, has repeatedly claimed that Ofsted no longer prefers a certain style of teaching. He even told a recent education conference that any individual inspectors who disagreed with his stance had been "rooted out".
Yet concerns persist that Ofsted inspections are reinforcing prejudice against traditional teacher-led lessons in state schools.
In this new report, Civitas research fellow and teacher Robert Peal investigates the extent to which inspectors' preferences are continuing to creep into their judgements. His findings are worrying, pointing to considerable evidence that the bias towards unproven child-led teaching methods still persists.”

Een derde nieuwsbericht. Niets ontgaat de gretige onderzoeker / ambtenaar inzake innovatie in het onderwijs. Zouden computers en internet een bijdrage aan de innovatie kunnen geven? 😉 Wat kan beleid maken toch mooi zijn. De druk die van de 'wetenschappers' uitgaat is hoog. De politieke agenda kan worden uitgevoerd. 'Innovation as change' (part II). Verandering is per definitie goed. Constante verandering houdt de schil rondom het onderwijs actief.

Een opmerking om zeer te
Een opmerking om zeer te onthouden: de constante veranderingen houden vooral de schil actief.
Die schil kan blijven doen alsof die ertoe doet; waanwijs als steeds.
De leraar is elke dag al actief; zelfs traditioneel onderwijs vergt al veel van hem/haar. Maar wat de schil weet te bedenken, in dat eigen parallele wereldje, kan maken dat menig leerkracht met de handen inn het haar komt te zitten. Want eenmaal voor een groep van 30 echte mensen, blijken papieren plaatjes meestal buitengewoon onwerkbaar te zijn. Maar dat zal die schil een worst wezen. Die schil is dol op al dat gepraat in het luchtledige.
IJdelheid der ijdelheden, zei de Prediker al. Lucht en leegte, vertaalde men 'modern' in dit land. Beide typeringen zijn treffend voor die schil met al die bijbehorendehoogdravende maar lege babbels.
Sinds de politieke horden zulke holle taal zijn gaan bezigen, is het onderwijs acheruit gehold. Waarvan acte.
